Leuta mini-bottle Rosso!

One of my favorite local wineries, Leuta, just released a 375 ml bottle!  I like to call it “purse size” but it will fit nicely also in picnic hampers, small grocery bags or whatever you are using to take along some nice cheese and salami for a little snack!

Most importantly, this is a great wine.  Word on the street is that the name is changing to Tau because this isn’t just your average “rosso toscana” (red table wine) and the wine deserves to have an appropriate name to distinguish it from the other “rossos” out there.

Once you taste it, trust me, you will be impressed, this is a big wine.

This wine is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Syrah and aged for 10 months in both slightly used and new French barrels.  Full bodied and big with red and dark fruit,  it lingers on the palate with hints of tobacco and leather and finishes strongly.  This is a wine that can easily stand up to a hearty steak or an aged cheese and strong salami.

I prefer this wine in any size bottle but the small two glass size is very convenient!  Now if they could just make it bottomless…
